Ummm, so I’m obsessed with Nordstrom’s new activewear, Zella.

My crush on Zella started when I bought their leggings a year ago when Weslie from Love Chugs recommended them.

I mean…I’m such a legging-whore that it’s honestly kinda pathetic. Like, I know my freaking leggings, people.

So I can say with the upmost confidence that they’re seriously, without a doubt, my absolute favorite clothing piece I own.

Because we’re a little more concerned with the amount of scoring off the field

Whether you plan to be glued to the TV or just stuffed full of nachos, it doesn’t seem like sex is topping many people’s to-do list this Sunday. But your chances of getting busy may have to do with your team: Seahawks fans think they’re more likely to have sex this Sunday than Broncos fans, according to a recent survey by We-Vibe.

MORE: The Super Bowl-Worthy Dip That’s Actually Healthy

Gotta love that optimism, especially considering that 48 percent of people think the big game will take precedence over their sex lives this weekend. Hey, we love football (and commercials) as much as the next person, but let’s not let it ruin our own chances of scoring.

So who do you think will have more sex this weekend? Seahawks fans? Broncos fans? Bruno Mars? Tell us in the comments.

Well, that’s one way to stay fit while eating for two

Last year, Australian surfer Kristi Olivares was hitting the waves four days a week with her friends and documenting the whole experience. Oh right, and did we mention she was pregnant

Olivares addresses the risks of surfing for two in a blog post, but also notes the precautions she took: sticking with waist-height or lower waves, taking the day off when there was a big swell, and protecting her bump whenever she fell off the board. In fact, her doctor—a fellow surfer—applauded her for maintaining her healthy lifestyle throughout the pregnancy.

In just 7 weeks, your beauty look will be entirely refreshed

There's no denying the desire to hit the refresh button during this time of year—especially if you live in a part of the country where the weather is bleak. "Winter can make us feel like even our best assets are dull," says Vivian Diller, Ph.D., author of Face It: What Women Really Feel as Their Looks Change and What to Do About It. Thankfully, "little tweaks can help you look—and feel—more attractive and invigorated." To that end, we've mapped out two months' worth of quick updates that are sure to banish your beauty blues. Enjoy!

Week 1 Glow Getters

Claire Benoist

Go for gold. For an Instagram-like radiance in real life, apply a gilded liquid luminizer all over your face with a fluffy brush, says Tim Quinn, celebrity makeup artist for Giorgio Armani Beauty. Put one pump in the palm of your hand, run the brush through it, and then swirl all over your skin. Try: Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer in Kitten Shimmer ($20, sephora.com).

Blush up. Bluebased blush shades (like berry) counteract the sallowness of winter skin, and where you apply it can make all the difference. "Blend it on the apples of your cheeks for a fresh-faced look," says Sarah Lucero, Stila celebrity makeup artist. Try: Revlon Cream Blush in Flushed ($13 at drugstores). Feeling puffy? Choose a terra-cotta shade and wear it higher on the cheekbones for a sculpting effect.

Week 2 Mani Makeovers

Claire Benoist

Bling out your nails. New highly condensed sparkly formulas make your nails look as if they're encrusted with gems, says Michelle Saunders, a manicurist in Los Angeles. Since the first place your brush touches will get the heaviest deposit of sparkle, start closest to your cuticle, then sweep toward your tips for a more diffused look. Try: Essie in Lots Of Lux ($8.50, essie.com).

Nude and improved. Try a more of-the-moment neutral like lavender or muted blue, says Jin Soon Choi, a manicurist in New York City. They're flattering to ashy winter skin, she says. Try: YSL La Laque Couture in Beige Gallery ($25, yslbeautyus.com), a nude with lavender-gray undertones.

Week 3 Style Updates

Claire Benoist

Bulk up your bun. "Buns are getting bigger," says Mark Townsend, a celebrity stylist for Dove. To give yours more oomph, pull hair into a ponytail and braid it. Then muss the braid before wrapping it loosely around the elastic. "It gives the illusion of a fuller bun—and the loops from the braid create a cool, messy effect," he says.

Dress up your pony. "Ponytails are really polished and sleek right now," says Tommy Buckett, celebrity stylist for Garnier Fructis. Simply create a center or low side part and make a pony at the nape of your neck. Run a flatiron over the tail, then swipe an argan oil—infused treatment down the length, he says. Try: Giovanni Brazilian Keratin & Argan Oil Ultra-Sleek Touch-Up Hair Towelette ($7 for 10, giovannicosmetics.com).

Week 4 Pout Pleasers

Claire Benoist

Care for your kisser. Lip balms might keep lips smooth during winter months, but they don't deliver long-lasting color. Get the best of both worlds with new lipsticks that are packed with water-binding hyaluronic acid, oils, and other moisturizers. Try: Dior Rouge Dior lipstick ($34, dior.com) and Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy CC Lipstick ($34, giorgioarmanibeauty-usa.com).

Go off-season. Summery lip hues like coral or fuchsia offer an unexpected pop of brightness in the dead of winter, says makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua. Apply it to the middle of your lips and blend it out. "It brings light into the center of your face," she says. Try: L'Oreal Paris Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick in Fearless Fuchsia ($10, at drugstores).

Week 5 New Eye-deas

Claire Benoist

Add twinkle. Line the inside rim of your inner corners with a metallic colored pencil. "It rounds out the eyes, making them look bigger and brighter," says Yoshimoto Bua. If you have brown eyes, use a metallic blue. Try: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Abyss ($19, urbandecay.com). Pair green eyes with purple liner. Try: NYX Slide On Pencil in Pretty Violet ($8, nyxcosmetics.com). For blue eyes, go for a shimmering green. Try: M.A.C Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Forever Green ($16, maccosmetics.com).

Raise your brows. To beef up your brows, use concealer. Choose one that's lighter than your skin tone and smooth it on above and below your brows, from arch to tail. "The light-reflecting quality makes brows appear lifted and fuller," says Quinn. Try: Marc Jacobs Beauty Remedy Concealer Pen ($39, sephora.com).

Week 6 Dye Do-Overs

Claire Benoist

Gloss over your ombre. Tone down the light-to-dark color trend by applying an at-home, color-depositing glaze that's close to your root color for half the suggested time every three weeks, says Sharon Dorram, a colorist in New York City. The idea is not to take out all the highlights, she says, but to bridge the gap between roots and tips while creating a richer, shinier shade. Try: John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze in Brilliant Brunette ($10, at drugstores).

Punch up your blonde. Raise a glass and pour some bubbly over your damp hair and rinse after 10 minutes, says Kyle White, a colorist at Oscar Blandi Salon in New York City. "The effervescence in champagne gives hair volume, and the golden hue enhances blonde tones," he says. Follow with a deep-conditioning treatment.

Week 7 Body Boosters

Claire Benoist

Smooth move: Switch to a body wash that contains mega-hydrating, fatty acid–packed coconut oil, says Debra Jaliman, M.D., a dermatologist in New York City and author of Skin Rules. Try: SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Body Wash ($10, target.com). Or make your own by adding coconut or any natural oil (like olive or jojoba) to your favorite body cleanser, she says.

Tackle tough spots. Glycolic acid is not just for your face. Every day, swipe elbows and the back of your hands, heels, and ankles with a glycolic-soaked pad. "Not only will it eliminate any dead-skin buildup, but it will also help skin retain moisture," says Jaliman. Try: Cane & Austin Retexturizing Body Pads with 10 percent glycolic acid ($70, dermstore.com).

When you find out that a couple sleeps in separate bedrooms, it’s easy to jump to the conclusion that their relationship is in hot water. But in a segment on Good Morning America that aired earlier this week, a man and a woman who have been married for a year and a half explained that having their own bedrooms is part of the reason they’re so happy. Having their own spaces helps them get their Zzz’s and not bother each other with their respective hobbies (in this case, guitar-playing and reading).

“I love that idea that we love each other so much that we protect each other’s solitude,” the husband, Nate, told GMA.

Relationship expert Michelle Callahan, Ph.D., appeared on the show and gave her thoughts on the idea: "I think this is becoming more common as people have more difficulty sleeping at night,” she said. “They’re just discovering, ‘Look, we love each other all the rest of the day. But when it's actually time to go to sleep, we can't agree on the temperature of the room, the covers, the firmness of the bed, TV on or off.’ I think we underestimate the power of a good night’s sleep.”

It’s a thought-provoking topic, for sure. So we want to hear your take!

Tell us: Have you and a partner ever slept in separate bedrooms, even though your relationship was going well? Would you consider trying it out in the future?

Read an excerpt from Heidi’s March 2014 cover story

Heidi is 40 and has four kids, though you'd never guess either of those things by looking at her. The model turned TV personality—whose net worth Forbes has estimated at $50 million to $70 million—is at the peak of her career in an industry dominated by much younger women. She first burst onto the scene in the '90s (after winning a modeling contest while living in her hometown of Bergisch Gladbach, Germany) with a wholesome yet sexy kind of beauty that was tailor-made for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, which she appeared in nine times, and earned her those giant Victoria's Secret Angel wings, which she wore for a record 13 years.

For 12 consecutive seasons on Project Runway, she's sent eager fashion designers packing, and her knack for crushing people's dreams with a sympathetic smile won her an Emmy, shared with cohost Tim Gunn. Given her popularity on Project Runway, it's no surprise she was tapped for another judging gig, on America's Got Talent. (She's also on her ninth season of hosting Germany's Next Top Model.)

Add in the fact that she has designed a children's line for Babies R Us and a sneaker and activewear line for New Balance, and you have to wonder if Father Time has granted Heidi a few bonus hours in her day.

To find out how she thrives at such a frenetic pace (all while looking ridiculously amazing), we got her to spill her strategies for staying healthy, battling stress, and cultivating a full, beautiful life.

Take these terms to heart

Heart disease kills one in four women—that's three times as deadly as breast cancer, to put it into perspective. Now that we've got your attention, time to learn a bit more. The following four conditions cause major trouble for your heart. Learn about them, and learn how to prevent them.

Cardiovascular Disease
Heart and blood vessel conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, and heart valve problems, among others

Cholesterol
A waxy fat created in the liver and circulated in the bloodstream. Friendly high-density lipoprotein (HDL) is the "good" heart-protecting cholesterol; high levels of bad-boy low-density lipoprotein (LDL) can lead to the sticky plaque deposits that cause arterial blockages.

Metabolic Syndrome
A dangerous cluster of conditions (high blood pressure, excess abdominal fat, elevated blood sugar, and abnormal cholesterol) that can send you spiraling toward heart disease; it's rising quickly among women ages 20 to 39 and is often preventable or reversible through diet and exercise

Triglycerides
Usually lumped together with cholesterol—levels are checked concurrently—these are any type of calories stored as fat that the body uses for energy. Left unburned, triglyceride levels will shoot up, increasing your risk for heart disease.

alcohol on hcg diet 199x300 Questions About Alcohol and Your HCG DietI get a lot of HCG diet questions relating to alcohol consumption on the HCG diet and if HCG 2.0 is different in comparison. I wish I had better news, but alcohol is one of the worst things you can consume that will adversely effect your weight loss. Not only is alcohol extremely high in calories containing 7 calories per gram compared to protein or carbs, which contain only 4 calories per gram, but over-consumption can be taxing on the liver. If your liver is busy oxidizing alcohol, it’s not oxidizing fats which then accumulate both in the liver (fatty liver disease) and systemically in  your belly, arms and thighs. Beer and wine is going to be highest in calories followed by straight liquors. Definitely avoid sugary mixers that can double and even triple the caloric intake. Mix with water or diet soda… in moderation. As is life, moderation is the key.

With all said above, I still have plenty of dieters that lose weight successfully while on HCG 2.0. The key to successfully imbibing alcohol while on the low calorie phase of your HCG diet is choosing the right adult beverages and consuming them in a responsible, intentional way. There’s an appropriate time to enjoy a moderate amount of alcohol to unwind or to celebrate. Aside from the positive aspects of socializing, some types of alcohol are associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease, and they may also reduce the risk of infection with the bacteria that causes ulcers.

Here are a few key factors to help you decide whether you should pop a cork:

  • Alcohol is a toxin to the liver.
  • Alcohol is a drug, which means it’s addictive.
  • If losing weight is your goal, remember that your liver can’t help you with fat burning if it’s busy detoxifying alcohol.

Before you pour yourself a glass of something intoxicating, consider your health goals and overall eating habits, and then make smart choices about which type of alcohol you drink.

Steer clear of grain-based drinks that can also include gluten, such as the following:

  • Beer hcg diet questions
  • Bourbon can I drink on the HCG diet?
  • Gin (some brands are processed with grain-based alcohol)
  • Grain-based vodka
  • Whiskey

To celebrate on special occasions, feel free to choose one of these:

  • Potato vodka
  • Red wine
  • Rum
  • Sparkling wine
  • Tequila
  • White wine

To manage your body’s insulin response to the sugars found in alcohol, mix spirits, like tequila or vodka, with soda water, ice, and a squeeze of lemon or lime juice. Avoid fruit juices, which are liquid sugar; and avoid tonic water, which is also high in sugar.

Wine and beers should absolutely be avoided during the low calorie phase of your HCG diet. When you re-introduce these during the maintenance phase of HCG, keep the following in mind… When uncorking wine, choose the driest (least sweet) wines possible. The driest reds include Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot; the driest whites are Sauvignon Blanc and Albarino.

I’m a bit of a beer snob myself, so either drink less of your heavier beer favorites or try something lite, like Bud Select or Ultra.

I certainly  like to partake every now and again, but lets be honest… Can you really maintain a high level of health if you drink alcohol frequently and/or in large quantities. The pleasant buzz that alcohol provides also places stress on your liver, creates a strong insulin response, and dehydrates your cells. Enjoy cocktails in moderation.

alcohol on hcg diet 199x300 Questions About Alcohol and Your HCG DietI get a lot of HCG diet questions relating to alcohol consumption on the HCG diet and if HCG 2.0 is different in comparison.

The driest reds include Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot; the driest whites are Sauvignon Blanc and Albarino.

super bowl hcg diet recipes Start Your HCG Diet on Super Bowl Sunday and Eat with a PurposeIt’s hard to imagine beginning a diet on Super Bowl Sunday among the hot wings, nachos and other tailgate delicacies, but that’s exactly what is recommended in the new book HCG 2.0 – A Modern Adaptation of the Traditional HCG Diet, by Dr Zach LaBoube. “The human body is a lot smarter than what we give it credit. If you suddenly cut calories as you do with most diet plans, it can be alarming to the system. Your body will actually become more efficient with its calories because it is anticipating a decrease in food supply, so you begin to retain more fat, which is counter-productive. The loading phase of the HCG diet allows you to bypass this,” says Dr. Zach

To elaborate, it’s important to keep in mind that human physiology exists for our long term survival and only in the last 100 years of human evolution have we had to deal with an excess of available calories. Prior to this, our physiology developed to accommodate an absence of calories that was commonly experienced in the form of long winters or famine, conditions that rarely exist today. As a result, the body becomes defensive when we suddenly decrease calories as we do with dieting. This sudden decrease in calories can alarm the body into “starvation mode.” During starvation mode, your body actually becomes more efficient with its calories and more determined to store away fat, assuming that there is a scarcity in food supply.  This is why dieting is so difficult. Not only are we battling our own poor eating habits, but a physiological pre-disposition to retain fat. Loading on fats for two days causes liver enzymes to spike which is theorized to prevent the body from entering this starvation mode. By the time your liver enzymes return to normal levels, the HCG has already tapped into your fat reserves and is providing you with supplemental calories from your stored fat, thus bypassing starvation mode, and facilitating rapid, yet healthy weight loss.

What does all of this mean? It means you have the green light to eat all of your fatty favorites during the first two days that you begin taking your HCG supplement. “Not only does this jumpstart the diet, it provides incentive to begin. Many like to schedule their diet to begin on holidays or vacations. Thanksgiving and Super Bowl Sunday are two of the most popular. Might as well eat with a purpose,” says Dr. Zach hcg diet super bowl recipes

In addition to bypassing starvation mode, the loading days of the HCG 2.0 diet also alert the liver to begin attacking and oxidizing fats, rapidly removing them from the system. In addition, the excess fat consumed during the loading phase, sometimes called P1, provides an immediate calorie reserve to mediate your hunger during the early stages of the low calorie phase of the HCG 2.0 diet.

The loading phase of HCG 2.0 is quite similar to that of the traditional HCG diet developed by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons in his manuscript Pounds and Inches: A New Aproach to Obesity, although HCG 2.0 recommends an equal ratio of Omega 3 fats to Omega 6 fats. So what then is the difference between HCG 2.0 and the traditional HCG diet? HCG 2.0 uses a BMR calculation to determine the amount of calories on your individualized HCG diet. It encourages 15 – 20 grams of lean protein for breakfast. It suggests a lean protein, low-carb snack before bed, improving sleep and providing necessary protein for cellular regeneration. HCG 2.0 recommends exercise. It provides a wider variety of protein options and larger portion sizes of leaner items higher in nutritional value, but void of empty calories that only contribute to weight gain. It also recommends a wider variety of vegetables and discourages root vegetables such as onions which are significantly higher in carbs than peppers, broccoli and many other veggies that are not allowed on the traditional HCG diet. hcg recipes for super bowl

Hoarders give me severe anxiety

So this weekend I totally realized I’m that person.

You know that person AKA that annoying food snob.

The kinda snob that dies a little inside when around nasty-ass, chemical food/drinks/products.

Like, I’m a pain the ass.

The other day I went to see a friend’s new home & this spilled outta my big-ass mouth as I was leaving:

“Such a cute place! So happy for you! Die over that couch! By the way, those water bottles, ya those ones over there, have BPA in them. Buy new ones. K, love you, ciao!”

This is real life.

That happened.

Ok so apparently cracked elbows is a serious epidemic.

For reals.

Like, I can’t even go grocery shopping without seeing half the store filled with “Cracklers.”

Yes. I might have made up that term ( should I trademark it? ).

My official defintion of “Cracklers” ( noun ): a person who neglects their elbows for so long that they turn into crackly/chapped skin patches that resemble a desert.

Seen ‘um?

Probs.

Welp, let’s be real: no one wants dry, nasty elbows.

So on that note…let’s talk about the SKIN Stick:
